PITCH LETTER SAMPLE
Subject Line: Join Us in Reducing Teen Pregnancy - 2 Million Dollar Initiative
Dear,
Greetings from Loyola Marymount University’s Student Affairs! We are reaching out to share this amazing opportunity for you to be a catalyst for positive change in the LA community. We as LMU’s Student Affairs provide a roundup of resources and services to support students on their personal and academic journey. With that, we are excited to announce that we are launching a $2 million fund drive to address the critical issue of teen pregnancy within our community.
According to the CDC, 9.9 out of 1,000 females aged 15-19 give birth in the state of California. This statistic is a huge indicator of adolescent reproductive health, and shows the need of efforts to reduce teen pregnancy. From heathline.com, effects of teen pregnancy can span from social and emotional wellbeing such as postpartum depression to significant health implications such as preterm birth.
With the funds raised, we plan on using it to launch a traveling educational exhibit for local high schools, as well as two outreach centers within the community. The drive will be mainly aimed at corporations, wealthy donors, and families who work or live within a 100-mile radius of Loyola Marymount University. With that, we will be providing high-resolution behind-the-scenes visuals, infographics, and photographs of the event to enrich your publications coverage. We will also provide you in-depth interviews featuring key figures and experts, such as President of Loyola Marymount University, Timothy Law Snyder and members of our Student Psychological Services whom are involved in the initiative.
Your platform has the power to inspire change, one reader at a time.
Feel free to contact me for any additional information or to schedule an interview.
Best regards,
Charlotte Peng
